Public Health Educator/Accreditation Intern

*Assists with Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) accreditation for the agency, learning all aspects and functions of public health
*Assists with preparation of written and digital materials
*Serves on Health Education Committee
*Assists with grant applications, prepares grant reporting documents
*Assists with public health programs and activities
*Serves on Community Coalitions and learns community resources
*Working towards attaining Bachelor’s degree
SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO:
* Analytic skills to gather and select documentation
*Research methods to gather data
*Communicate effectively (written & verbal)
*Present programs and materials in a culturally sensitive manner
*Utilize literacy and health equity considerations in the development and delivery of education
*Engage co-workers and community partners
Valid State of Ohio driver’s license with appropriate vehicle insurance according to Health District policy, and reliable transportation required.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:
The Logan County Health District welcomes volunteers to assist with our mission for a safe and healthy Logan County. We have openings for data entry, scanning, assembling packets of information for new moms, making calls to update contact lists, creating newsletters or reports, participate in emergency exercises, helping customers with communicating, i.e. sign language, are a few of many opportunities.
Do you have a background or interest in the history and geography of Logan County or in map reading and research? The Logan County Health District could use your help! LCHD is looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping in the Environmental Health Division. Other volunteer opportunities such as filing and mailing are also available! Schedules are flexible and at your discretion.
